James P Fox D.O. Registered Osteopath

The Practice

The whole ethos behind my philosophical and practical approach to the treatment of joint and soft tissue injuries is one of gentleness. To this end, my practice is a "LOW FORCE" practice, which means I use only the gentle manipulative techniques that I developed in 1986 to treat spinal and peripheral joint injuries, and cranial osteopathy for other conditions.

These manipulative techniques are revolutionary because of the amount of "force" used. They were tested in a placebo controlled clinical trial and were proven to be (1) EFFECTIVE and (2) so GENTLE that patients could not tell they were being treated! I no longer use the conventional methods that many people associate with osteopathic treatment, (and may have experienced), which causes joints to "click".

Because my techniques are so specific I am also able to treat patients with complicated combinations of pelvic, sacral, and symphysis pubis sprains. Some of these conditions arise as a result of a fall, pregnancy, or are the unfortunate end result of a complicated or even normal delivery.

Every new patient is given a  comprehensive Patient Information Leaflet, which includes an outline of my practice, the first visit, how many treatments? X-rays, the healing process, pain, when to seek treatment, cranial osteopathy, and my low force osteopathic research trial.

Patients are also given specific aftercare leaflets to help them to a speedy recovery.

As more people become aware of the gentleness and effectiveness of my low force techniques, they travel from all over the United Kingdom and abroad for treatment.
